Historic Route by Air

Day 01:

Fly to Bahir Dar and visit Blue Nile Falls & Lake Tana monasteries.Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02: Fly to Gondar and visit castles, Debre Berhane Selassie Church whose walls and ceiling covered with vivid murals.

Day 03:

Fly to Lalibela and explore the end of 12th and beginning of 13th  century rock-hewn churches.

Day 04:

Fly to Axum and visit the Archaeological Museum, 2000 years old mysterious monolithic obelisks, ruins of Queen of Sheba palace, Kaleb’s Tomb and Tsion Mariam Church - the last resting place of the Ark of the Covenant.

Day 05: Fly back to Addis Ababa.

Historic Route by Road
Day 01:

Drive to Bahir Dar en-route visit Debre Libanos Monastery and Blue Nile Gorge. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02: Boat excursion on Lake Tana and Visit Blue Nile Falls.
Day 03: Depart for Gondar and visit the castles & churches.
Day 04: Leave for Axum through awe-inspiring Simien Mountains.
Day 05:

Visit the ancient city’s church & historical relics.

Day 06:

Drive to Mekelle en-route visit Yeha Temple & Debre Damo.

Day 07: Depart for Lalibela through dramatic highland scenery.

Day 08:

Whole day visit of the rock-hewn churches.

Day 09:

An excursion to visit some of the churches outside Lalibela town.

Day 10:

Depart for Dessie/Kombolcha.

Day 11

Drives back to Addis Ababa.
